    FAQs
    1. Are the composite toe and plate of these safety shoes as safe as steel toe shoes?

Yes, composite or metal-free safety shoes and work boots provide the same levels of protection as steel toe shoes. Composite toe safety shoes & work boots are often lighter than steel toe shoes and provide the same levels of protection. To find out more about the differences, read our blog on What are the Differences Between Composite Toe, Aluminum Toe and Steel Toe Safety Shoes and Boots.

    2. What is the break-in period for work boots and safety shoes?

Work boots and safety shoes should fit well when you buy them. Your toes shouldn't be able to wiggle and not touch the toe cap. Your heel should sit snuggly but not too tight. Because of the  safety features (toe and plate) built into safety shoes and work boots, they don't loosen up like regular shoes or boots might. We recommend wearing them for a few hours at home before wearing them for a full day of work. After all, you wouldn't wear brand new shoes to go on an 8-hour hike!

    3. Are these work boots waterproof?

Yes, these are waterproof work boots and are ideal for outdoor work or indoor work with exposure to moisture and liquids. If your job site has only light or occasional exposure to water, moisture or liquids then water-resistant work boots may be a better option as they are more breathable. To learn more about the differences, read our blog on Waterproof, water repellent, water resistant: what's right for your work?

    4. Are these work boots ideal for cold work environments?

Yes, these work boots are insulated and designed for cold work conditions. Optimal Insulation levels also vary by activity level: 200g is ideal for temperatures from 0°C to -10°C with high-activity work, 400–600g works best for temperatures from -10°C to -20°C with moderate activity, and 800 to 1000g is recommended for temperatures with extreme cold temperatures with low-activity, where maximum warmth is needed.

HVAC Service Person test for the Bog

Thought I may test these puddle jumpers out on my daily HVAC service calls on wet flat roofs

    First day Pros :
    - great arch support
    - great design for; pulling on boots ( holes on sides )
    - ease removing ( exterior heel protrusion, to push against )
    - lots of room around my calves for breathability ( while driving to prevent overheating/sweating )
    - great foot dexterity driving and good feel on pedals
    - nice comfort for my 5"width ( EE)
    - tread design on snow works
    - currently went from size 13 ( Australian ) Blundstone to size 13 bogs...good fit

    Cons:
    - my skinny calves means chafing my occur from top of boot rubbing back and forth ( thinking of a solution to fill in space with something )

    - want to try the rubber sole ability to grip ice ( when rubber is coldest )
    - nothing else stands out yet ( still early )

Will submit a 1 year review as follow -up for these bad boys

Amazing boots for a better price

Had these for about 2 months now. I'm a trucker who delivers to construction sites. These bad boys are warm even with crew socks on this week at 4am. They're holding up great to the snow and mud and frigid temps.
Very comfortable, and the extra sole makes for a tighter fit ( what I prefer)
It has a awesome feeling wheel cushion. Makes for the walking even more comfortable.
    Would highly recommend!

Thank you for taking the time to review your new Bogs Workman Mid work boots Scott. We're glad to hear you find they are comfortable as a trucker!
