    Frequently Asked Questions

What does 'heavy-duty work environment' mean for this men's work boot?
Heavy-duty environments include jobs like construction and manufacturing where reliable protection is needed. They are CSA certified with a composite toe and steel plate. But because of the unique, lightweight construction of these work boots, they could be worn for medium duty work, like landscaping or in manufacturing environments as well because they won't be heavy if you are active and work long hours.

Are Timberland Boondock Ultralight good for electrical work?
Yes. They are ESR-rated (Electric Shock Resistant), which means the soles provide a secondary level of protection against electrical shock hazards. This makes them suitable for electricians or anyone working around live electrical equipment.

Is the Timberland Boondock Ultralight work boot waterproof?
Yes, the Boondock Ultralight work boots are made with waterproof leather uppers. They will hold up in light rain and  wet conditions.

    FAQs
    1. Are these waterproof work boots good for outdoor jobs?

Yes. The upper is waterproof and built with tough, full-grain leather, making them ideal for construction, landscaping, warehouse, and other medium to heavy work environments where dry, durable footwear is essential.

    2. What is the break-in period for work boots and safety shoes?

Work boots and safety shoes should fit well when you buy them. Your toes shouldn't be able to wiggle and not touch the toe cap. Your heel should sit snuggly but not too tight. Because of the  safety features (toe and plate) built into safety shoes and work boots, they don't loosen up like regular shoes or boots might. We recommend wearing them for a few hours at home before wearing them for a full day of work. After all, you wouldn't wear brand new shoes to go on an 8-hour hike!

    3. Are the composite toe and plate of these safety shoes as safe as steel toe shoes?

Yes, composite or metal-free safety shoes and work boots provide the same levels of protection as steel toe shoes. Composite toe safety shoes & work boots are often lighter than steel toe shoes and provide the same levels of protection. To find out more about the differences, read our blog on What are the Differences Between Composite Toe, Aluminum Toe and Steel Toe Safety Shoes and Boots.

    4. Are these work boots waterproof?

Yes, these are waterproof work boots and are ideal for outdoor work or indoor work with exposure to moisture and liquids. If your job site has only light or occasional exposure to water, moisture or liquids then water-resistant work boots may be a better option as they are more breathable. To learn more about the differences, read our blog on Waterproof, water repellent, water resistant: what's right for your work?

    Comfortable and reactive foot ware

So far I am impressed with the overall comfort of my Timberland PRO
Boondock Ultralight Men's 6" Composite Toe Work Boots. The boot offers several ways of lacing and have a very comfortable sole that feels like it provides me with extra spring when walking.
The boots are light weight and warm enough to stay comfortable with out being to hot and causing my feet to sweat.
